The Fremantle Children's Literature Centre presents four visually stunning exhibitions of Australian Picture Books each term. The exhibitions include materials such as original manuscripts, preliminary drawings and original artwork and show the collaborative process involved in creating children's and young adult literature. Within these exhibitions workshops are run for students from pre primary to tertiary level.
All workshops at the Fremantle Children's Literature Centre are designed to be exciting, interactive and exploratory. Learning experiences are planned to support the Student Learning Outcomes of the Curriculum Framework and may include such activities as predicting storylines, drama, writing and illustration work. Unless discussed, it is preferred that teachers do not introduce their students to the focus book(s) before visiting the Centre as teachers will find that the exhibitions act best as a stimulus to many follow up activities.
The delightful and slightly eccentric Miss Llewellyn-Jones is off on another adventure! This time she and Teddy set off to go shopping but with distastrous results. Teddy is lost and it takes all his ingenuity to find his way back home.
Moira's beautiful and quirky illustrations will have younger readers fascinated and thinking about that old question: what happens to our toys when we're not around?

Jackie French has done it again! When the King and Queen retire and go off in a campervan, they leave the kids in charge. Using only the material in their library, the kids solve the world's great environmental problems, creating a magic land of joy and hope.
