LITERATURE WORKSHOPS
Centre staff conduct two-hour workshops with the exhibition of the given picture book on loan to the Centre by the illustrator and author. Each exhibition includes the final artwork and all or part of the writing and illustrating process, i.e. drafts, research material, photographs, storyboards, dummy books, preliminary artwork.
Each interactive session will have students engrossed: from predicting the storyline by explaining the illustrations; to sharing the journey of the book from its beginning to the final book format; through questions, discussions, drama, writing, drawing. These workshops cover many aspects of the English Learning Area of the Australian Curriculum, in particular, the Literature Strand.

Moondyne Joe was not known for blazing gunfights or robbing banks! It was the convict bushranger's ability to esacpe every time he was placed behind bars that won him fame and the affection of the early WA settlers. This is a superb depiction of the greatest escape artist of Australia's convict era.
